A celebration of the Sea.......
The Tin Pub Sea Fare Weekend 7th and 8th July 2007
Located at the Sea Side, the Tin Pub hosted a fund raising event from which all proceeds were donated to the Life Boat Charity.
The Events over the weekend were: -
Seafood - 1 PM to 6 PM Saturday - An introduction to Seafood. What the Sea provides us with. How to prepare and serve Seafood. All food is caught locally and Local Fishermen and Richard , our Chef offered his expertise in demonstrating the Handing, storage and preparation of Seafood. Including Tasting!!
Kids Entertainment- a beachcombing competition where Kids are given a chart of well-known seaweeds, shells and creatures and will be sent of to scout for samples. All participants got a small prze with the winning prize going to Caroline O'Donovan.
2 music events (Saturday and Sunday) 6 PM Music Warm up followed by hot bluegrass for TNT - all donations and proceeds went the lifeboat fund. Big Rockin Session Sunday 6PM on..
Main Events
The main event was the swim across Dunmanus Bay by 11 hardy brave hearts who were accompanied by safety and support crews. The Lifeboat from Castletownbere was in attendance.and brought a spectacular addition to the swim.

The event received national publicity, PR, corporate and individual sponsorship and donations. So far over 4500 Euros has been raised with pledges still due in. Sponsors are listed on www.tinpub.com/lifeboats
